Girl By the Sea, 12×12 Mixed Media, 2026

Summer is almost upon us. Although here in Colorado we have had such strange weather, it seems that we’ve had flashes of summer since January!

Summertime usually means outdoor chalk art and festivals for me. This year I have a couple lined up, but won’t be doing quite as many. Sad about that, but I am also in the middle of filming a movie, so cannot be at as many festivals! My first chalk art fest is the wonderful Denver Chalk Art Festival, June 6-7. Get out and see the art if you can!! (link below)

Currently, I have a show hanging in Miners Alley Performing Arts Center in Golden Colorado through June 14. For the first time I am exhibiting digital art as well as traditional media. I am a little new to creating digitally, but have enjoyed making art in that way. I will admit that painting and drawing with a tablet is harder for me than my good old brushes and pens! If you are interested in any of those pieces, I have made Limited Edition museum quality prints, signed and numbered. (There are only 25 of each!) You can see a video of what is hanging on the main page of my website!

I have been working toward doing more public art and have a couple of fun projects. Both are fox themed. I guess I have a thing for foxes! One design will be wrapped on a utility box on Arapahoe Road in Aurora, CO. The other design I will be creating as part of the Pianos About Town in Fort Collins, CO. I will be painting there August 28-30 and a couple days in September.

I will be showing some pieces and vending at Mics and Market by aqui.arts on May 23. It is a Sober Art event. The venue is a great coffee shop, Ollin Cafetzin. It offers indigenous inspired drinks. An open mic will be part of the event and you may hear Mr. Fuqua and myself doing a couple of tunes if you come by!

May 30 from 11-2 I will be drawing at the Baker Fest. It is a community event at Dailey Park with chalk artists drawing on a basketball court and a dragon around the perimeter for kids (of all ages) to draw on. Come join the fun! Plus, my son, Amani, is also drawing - if you have seen some of last year’s posts you know how proud and delighted I am that my “little boy” has become a chalk artist in his own right😉

That is all my news for the moment! Thanks for supporting me in my art journey❤️
