Autumn color from our garden
October is “pumpkin spice and everything nice”. Happy October! If you visit me these lovely marigolds and pumpkins will greet you on the front stoop. A happy splash of fall color. Our backyard garden produced a forest of marigolds and enough pumpkins for us and the neighbors!
October is also a time when I wind down from doing a lot of art events. I am concentrating on creating and painting smaller pieces these last months of the year instead of murals. I am quite low on “inventory”. (Thank you , people, for wanting my art🥰 ) Also, if you are interested in commissioning something, now is a good time! I did actually find out this week that I have been chosen to create a public art piece for the City of Aurora. So, one last large piece for 2025!
This season of Fall brings different colors, different light, a shaking off of the old, and prepping for the new. This season of life, for me, has also brought changes. In between creating and trying to build my art business, we have traveled a lot to see our youngest kid in college (to his football games) and to see my 90 year old parents (my dad has cancer). A mix of emotions colors my inspiration and artistic efforts.
Here is some shop news… I had originally planned on having my new online shop up by beginning of Fall, but postponed the opening for a couple of reasons. One, all the life changes happening. And two, a much better reason - my shop will not be a solo endeavor. I am collaborating with my daughter! Mikaela and I will be creating collections of our art on products together.
Two Tigers Art Shop will have a soft launch in about two weeks. We will send out special notification to subscribers.
One last note, we will have our quarterly art giveaway drawing tomorrow!
Thank you for supporting me in my art life!
